Friday Poem by Efe Paul Azino

4 November 2016/in Tuesday Poetry

Before everything falls apart
before the sky swallows the sun
and shits fire on the earth
before dystopia walks out of cinema screens
dressed in proletariat garments and into our lives
I want to love you one more time
fold myself into your skin and cling to your chest
like I lost my life inside your heart

I lost my life inside your heart
soul leaked into soul
so now I carry your laughter
through the debris of a collapsing planet
into the nothingness of forever

Before the world falls apart
I want one more day together
ears soaked in your words
face buried between your legs
as time eats up time
teether me to mirth
when fear and despair
are tearing shit up
don’t leave my side
when my world falls apart
let your eyes reflect the joys
of endless new beginnings
tell me you love me
and that collapsing realities
are mind tricks
prove it when you kiss me
kiss me again and again
the world is collapsing
but the truth is in your kiss
