DAWN

I am awake
The world isn’t

fiddling with thoughts
Wrestling with words

bidding them to come lay
on the blank sheet staring at me

rubbing tired eyes
in echoing silence

But
this silence fawns

soonest, dawn comes
And now is upon all

Rooster crows
Muezzin calls: Allahu Akbar

Sun itching to rise
Dawn is here
