Tuesday Poem by Oluwadeaduramilade Tawak
1
You fall in love;
the sky is bluer.
Life is rosier;
stimulus applied.
Your heart responds;
your body does too
2
You start to talk less;
habituation happens.
No response to stimuli;
you return to homeostasis.
Butterflies don’t flutter anymore;
he is now a neutral stimulus.
3
There’s no excitement anymore.
You go way past homeostasis,
enter sadness.
You find a novel stimulus;
He is now an aversive stimulus.
